how do i calculate what i have to get on my next algebra test to raise my grade? is my worst problem. Can any one help me understand it? I am a beginner at it. What book or other resource do you suggest for starting this subject?

That's true, a good program can do miracles . I tried a few but Algebrator is the best . It doesn't make a difference what class you are in, I myself used it in Intermediate algebra and Pre Algebra as well , so you don't have to worry that it's not on your level. If you never used a software until now I can tell you it's not hard , you don't have to know anything about the computer to use it. You just have to type in the keywords of the exercise, and then the program solves it step by step, so you get more than just the answer.
